The MSU Investment Office is responsible for managing the long-term assets of the university through the university's endowment fund.  As of June 30, 2023, the fund has assets over $4 billion and employs external investment advisors, including traditional long-only equity and fixed income managers, and alternative strategies such as hedge funds and private investments.  The investment office is responsible for implementing the university's investment policy by identifying, hiring, and monitoring outstanding fund managers, and is responsible for reporting investment performance and activity to the president and board of trustees.
